5 Beauty Myths...
Debunked!
Here are 5 common beauty myths that have officially been debunked! I was pretty shocked when I read some of these. I hope these help you and maybe shock you alittle bit also! Enjoy!
1. Lack of Sleep Causes Dark Under Eye Circles
This is completely false. Dark Under Eye Circles are caused by a concentration of veins under the eye. Whether you get two hours of sleep or eight hours, your under eye circles will still be the same. The reason for under circles looking darker with little sleep is fluid building up under your eyes causing puffiness which can lead to the appearance of having darker under eye circles.

2. Lip Plumper Lip Gloss Gives You Angelina Jolie Lips
No matter how much we want this to be true, it is false! Lip Plumping Lip Gloss does not make your lips bigger, it actually irritates your lips causing them to swell for a few hours. Which can actually be dangerous and lead to permanent scarring. This Lip Gloss contains a menthol-like chemicals which causes a reaction on your lips, which is the tingling you feel after applying the lip gloss. Applying this too often can cause your lips to become overly sensitive.

3. Nail Hardeners Strengthens Your Nails
Sadly, this is not completely true. Nail Hardeners lead you to believe that they strengthen your nails and prevent breakage. When actually, using a nail hardener can CAUSE breakage. Hardeners make your nails less flexible meaning they become more brittle. Along with nail hardener, using nail polish remover strips the natural oils from your nail, use it only once or twice a week, if that. To help strengthen your nails by investing in a good hand and cuticle cream. I recommend Lush's Lemony Flutter Cuticle Cream and Helping Hands Hand Cream.

4. Applying Cocoa Butter Prevents Stretch Marks
Am I the only woman who feels kind of cheated by this lie? It has been talked about for years especially for pregnant women. But it is not true! Stretch marked are formed below the first layer of skin, applying cocoa butter can not do anything, it does not reach the stretch marks. The most cocoa butter can do for stretch marks is stopping the itch that comes with them.

5. Wearing Nail Polish Causes Your Nails To Turn Yellow
This is partially true, but there is an easy way to prevent yellow nails. By applying a base coat before your nail polish prevents the pigment from absorbing into your nails. Though it is still a good idea to let your nails breathe sometimes and go with out nail polish for a week or two.
