Trend Spotter :
Oxblood
It seems like each year the fall/winter reds keep getting deeper and deeper in color, and we are loving it! This year's red is named "Oxblood". Though that may sound creepy when you first say it, trust me by the end of this post you will be saying it as if you were an editor for Vogue! This color is a mix of a deep wine and plum and is just perfect for the holidays this year. By adding an Oxblood colored piece of clothing or accessories, you integrate a little taste of high fashion into your daily look without going all Devil Wears Prada! Unless you would like to go Upper East Side with it, of course, no amount of Chanel or Versace is ever too much!
One : You know what they say, Two Trends are better than One! Okay, maybe they don't say that! But in this case it is true. Whether it is a Peter Pan Styled Dress Or Button up Blouse, you could never go wrong with having it in the color Oxblood. This may look dressy but if you would like to make it more of a casual look, try adding a black leather jacket, tights and motorcycle boots! (Peter Pan Colored Dress, 61.00)
Two : Okay, Oxblood Nail Polish.... Need I say more? (Sonia Kashuk "All Vamped Up", 4.79)
Three : Lately I have been obsessed and practically having dreams about Alexander McQueen's Bangles and when they came out with this one, I nearly fainted! How stunning?! Not to mention it has skulls! This is one of those bangles that I think are best left alone with no other jewelery except for maybe small stuff earrings. It is a big statement piece that needs to be shown off. (Alexander Mcqueen 1/2" Oxblood Skull Bangle, 295.00)
Four : Everytime I see these boots I imagine them being paired with black faux leather pants. They are a great staple shoe to have in your closet. Even though they are a colored boot they go with countless outfits to add a subtle pop of color. ( Petty kid suede british burgundy bootie, 130.00)
Five : Infinity scarves are a great way of mixing style with practicality. to style this with a full outfit, wear the boots(4), a pair of black leather pants, the infinity scarf (5) and a cream colored over sized sweater. ( Traditional Fairisle Snood, 36.00)
Six : It may be winter but that doesn't mean you cant wear shorts! Especially High Waisted Shorts. A common mistake is packing up your shorts in September and not thinking about them until the warm weather rolls back around, when you can recycle them into winter by adding a simple pair of tights! ( Moto Wine Clean Hotpants, 56.00)
Seven : How beautiful is this peplum top by Topshop?! Not only is the cut amazing but the lace overlay is to die for! I love this version but i would also love to see this in a sleeveless design! ( Lace Zip Peplum Top, 72.00)
Eight : One of the most important accessories is your handbag of course! Last year, the bigger tote style handbags were the trend, but now it is small and delicate bags. This one is perfect to add to your collection for this winter. ( Geo Quilted Crossbody Pouch, 56.00)
Nine: Is it a coincidence that Twilight just came out and now the trend is a deep red lip, I am not sure but I'm either way thanks for being a part of the "Vampy lip" trend! Some of us, like me, can not pull off a red as dark as this Mac lipstick, but if you can, rock it! (Mac Lipstick Dark Side, 15.00)
Ten : With colored denim not being as big of a hit as the past years (yeah, thanks alot floral!), we had to have some colored denim at some point and I believe this look is showing we made the right choice in bringing it back for this color. It is gorgeous! ( Oxblood Coated Skinny Jean, 35.00)
Eleven : These have been making a huge hit this year with girls such as Kylie Jenner and Miley Cyrus rocking them on numerous occasions. They might take some getting used to at first but once you see them with the right outfit, you will die for them! ( Macho Burgundy Lace Up Boots, 76.00)
